Sclerotherapy Risk Part 3

Published 7 Nov 2016

Sclerotherapy Risk - Part 3 With using the foaming process, we are injecting air into the venous system. This air does travel throughout the body, but in most cases it easily is filtered out. It is not advised to use the foam on people with a known hole in their hearts as the air gets to the brain before it is filtered through the lungs and may cause complications. People with chronic breathing problems sometimes will feel short of breath when the air is being filtered through the lungs. Nitrogen in the air is a known migraine trigger, so people with frequent migraines or uncontrolled migraine should not have the foaming process used with their treatments. If you have any further questions about any of the procedures, please feel free to contact us.
