The Conservation Environment Protection Authority (CEPA) has conducted its own investigations into the Basamuk Bay spill. It’s the second report following an independent investigation facilitated by the Madang Provincial Government. While the debate rages on about the extent of damage on the environment, the people living in the affected areas are also demanding answers after they were banned from catching fish in the surrounding waters. The spill from the Ramu Nickel Mine was heavily debated in Parliament as well.
