Alec Baldwin Tragedy on Set - Crewmember FATALLY KILLED! Who’s to Blame? An unfortunate incident on Thursday occurred on the latest set whilst filming "Rust" at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, south of Sante Fe with Alec Baldwin (Emmy award winning star of 30 Rock and The Hunt for Red October) where he was involved, using a prop firearm, in an accidental fatal shooting of a cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, in New Mexico. He said he is "fully cooperating" with the authorities and also said the following on his social media accounts: "There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours, my heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna," Not only did he star in the film, but he is also a co producer of "Rust" which is set in the 1880s Kansas. He plays an outlaw grandfather of a 13 year old boy convicted of an accidental fatality. The film's director, Joel Souza, was wounded in the accidental shooting but later released from the hospital. The sheriff's department has given no details about how the accident occurred but confirmed no charges have been filed and the investigation remains active and open. The film production has been shut down with immediate effect. The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees said in a statement they were "heartbroken and devastated" at the death of their union member. In a statement, representatives of the Hutchins called her "a ray of light.
