The previously optional MULTIBEAM LED is now the standard headlamp for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The optional DIGITAL LIGHT system enters series production for the first time at Mercedes-Benz. This allows completely new functions, e.g., the projection of guidelines or warning symbols onto the road ahead. In the MULTIBEAM LED headlamp, a light module with 84 LEDs arranged in three lines creates a grid in the form of a matrix. With this arrangement, not only the light distribution of the high beam but also that of the low beam is freely configurable and technically precise. MULTIBEAM LED therefore allows different light functions to actuate independently. They are wonderful cars for comfort and technology. Safe as a bank vault-and quiet as one too-
We aren’t rich- we buy used so we don’t get the depreciation drop, then let the dealer service them- I know the people who say “They are so expensive to maintain!” No- they are not-and I’m not rich
Just priced a Toyota Camry fuel pump- it’s more than the Mercedes fuel pump
Think about it however- a $149,090 car is not made with $40 parts-
The technology that keeps you safe is working 5,000 times a second!
That’s not a $40 part
- how many times do you see a paint faded, clear coat peeling Mercedes?
Never! I just saw a 2014 Cadillac with the clear coat already starting to crack on the hood-
People are willing to pay for reliability
And like I say it’s not the water pump that goes out on a Benz or the transmission or other major issues -
Usually for us it’s been the sunroof button or the GPS issue or the seat motor - it’s the little things
But in other cars like my Silverado truck it IS the transmission that went at 89,000 miles! It IS piston rings that had to be redone at 97000 miles due to blowing blue smoke-
My E class had 241,080 miles when I sold it
No engine trouble
Just oil, tires and brakes
I hope Daimler keeps improving QC and reliability in its cars but the product overall is rock solid and I’m a proud owner- ... 14
