According to some insiders at Hasbro, Power Rangers as we know might change. Hasbro might be parting ways with Toei which could lead to Power Rangers no longer being a live-action series but possibly an animated one. #PowerRangers #Hasbro #Toei Illuminerdi Article - https://www.theilluminerdi.com/2020/07/08/hasbro-end-power-rangers/ My Other Channel: /user/jonimusprime If you want to help us by supporting our work: Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/toybountyhunters Please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter! @cthewave99554 years ago I thought Toei and Hasbro had a good "peanut butter and jelly" partnership 24

@g6686not4 years ago I grew up on the original rangers up until now as well. I just feel like the younger audience isn't a fan of Power Rangers. They can't rely on us 30 and 40 year olds to keep this show going even though we grew up with it. They need the kids to buy the toys and watch the content. And honestly it hasn't been happening for a long time. ... 19

@aqueento4 years ago Hopefully its just a rumor, Power rangers is the gateway drug to anime 15
  • @
@aurasentai96024 years ago Honestly I expected this because Toei and Bandai have a tight relationship. 6

@sm4carnageihope4 years ago I was initially against Ryusoulger being adapted next, but if this the end, I'm more open to it. Ending the saga where it began, with Dinosaurs. 14

@amacunoh53434 years ago I guess thats the endgame here, Making their own rangers. 15

@louiswilson36534 years ago Like you I believe the charm of Power Rangers has always been the fact that it is live action. If Hasbro decides to go the aminated route that would interesting for sure. Power Rangers has endured through so many changes throughout it's 2 decade run. As a fan of this franchise I am determined to remain optimistic. ... 3

@FireStormDel4 years ago Until Hasbro says that this is case and reveals the plans of what they'd be doing next, I wouldn't believe that they're ending the show in it's live action format, if anything, the article even said originally Hasbro cut ties with Toei Animation, which is a sign that it's made up given it would have said Toei Company from the get go, plus, it sounds like it was only made because they knew of the three-year deal with Saban made with Nick before selling the brand and decided to play on that since there's also a rumor saying Dino Fury won't be kept to the "two halves over two years" format we've stuck with since Saban first bought back the brand. ... 5

@magicMosquito4 years ago So instead of "boom goes the dynamite" it could "boom... we're not renewing our contract". I dunno that last one is heartbreaking and doesn't flow well, how sad. 3

@maybetoby4 years ago Do animation or pull a Beyond the Grid. Get a dedicated cast of veteran actors from previous seasons, with occasional guest stars. 2

@theabsolutebest14734 years ago This is completely bull crap we have always wanted a animated power rangers but we don't wanting replacing live action show 3

@ShadowWingTronix4 years ago When I was a kid they made live-action adventure and sci-fi shows, but that mostly went away until Mighty Morphin Power Rangers debuted. Then you have stuff like the sequel to Land Of The Lost (a semi-reboot), Hypernauts, Space Cases, Galidor...I mean they weren't all good but they were being made again. I agree that turning Power Rangers into a cartoon would lose something that made it unique. That and translating the Boom comics, made for older readers who grew up with the original series and have no interest in newer incarnations, may not be that good a plan either for the franchise's primary target audience. ... 2

@KibaDragonRanger4 years ago It could be that Hasbro looked at the Sentai seasons that haven't been adapted, and thought they might not be palatable to western audiences. It is easy to see why:
ToQger: Along with the fact that it's several years old, the train theme just won't work.
Zyuohger: The cube theme, as well as how the zords combine may make it seem hokey to western audiences.
Kyuranger: This is a season that has the possibility to catch on in the west. However, the ranger count is a big factor.
Lupinranger VS Patranger: This could also work if handled correctly, but again, there are elements that just wouldn't work.
Kiramager: Although it's still airing, I don't think Hasbro would be swayed by it.

@superomegaprimemk24 years ago I'm taking a more hopeful approach to this, if Hasbro are doing their own thing, it could be interesting to see, they can do stories that aren't restrained by the existing footage from Japan. As for the comics, I suspect Hasbro might let the deal expire and not renew it, after all its their property now! ... 1

@phantomninjagaming4 years ago i don't want them to end the live action series ! 2

@geoffreychauvin14744 years ago What concerns me is how the animation quality will be. Modern cartoons aren’t exactly known for having realism in mind. I would be worried we would get something akin to DC Superhero Girls or god forbid, thunder cats Roar
  • @
@kamenrider644 years ago It be best if they kept adapting sentai we get to see a new team, suits, zords, characters etc that's what makes the franchise unique and interesting if they wanna make an animated series it can be a side thing while the sentai adaptation is the main thing ... 5

@kerrygligorovic97584 years ago But that doesn't make sense Power Rangers series have been around for years and were adapted from the Japanese series Super Sentai, surely this must be a rumour? 1

@lordferbus29704 years ago Bruh Power Rangers has been like, the only franchise that I like that hasn't been fucked and has had literal fan wars like Marvel, Star Wars, DC, Transformers, Star Trek and Doctor Who
But now Hasbro is just like, hey lets fuck over our fanbase like these other big franchises because that gives us money

@Alex_Logan224 years ago Haven't watched yet but the thumbnail alone got me like WAAAAAAAA
    Edit: Omg Pepa Pig lol
Edit 2: Is Disney's animated pilot somewhere out there? Would love to see it.
Edit 3: This feels like something that the Twitter channel Power Rangers NOW had some insight on before he quit.
Edit 4: Would love to see some Boom animated adaptations on like Netflix or something but that seems like a best case scenario that's more likely not to happen. Prepare for the worst is where my mind is at, and if its better than Pepa Pig Rangers than I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Edit 5: Haven't heard of Mystic Knights, might need to check it out. My biggest problem, and admittedly I havent seen Beast Morphers or much of anything recent, is the tone and never really growing up to be inclusive to more than just kids. Bat in the Sun's projects for example I really enjoyed and I feel strike that right MCU balance of being for everyone rather than too kid friendly or too adult like Adi Shankar (which I also enjoyed but recognize the issues).

@JiswaProject4 years ago I personally doubt it, but it's starting to sound a bit true. Mainly due to the pieces being put together (No Fiveman DVD News since last year (maybe), The half a season on Nick with no updates ever since, and the pandemic), yeahhhh..... Toei's gonna be looking for a new owner probably soon to the highest bidder. Hasbro is really just a toy maker first and quite a bit lower of an entertainment company second. *Epic Shrug*. ...

@kaisuzugamori41734 years ago The charm the Power Rangers have is being live action and I dont think it will seat well with many of the fans and even some children because they will most likely prefer live action. I feel this is not a good thing at all considering how many years this relationship has been going on
I mean given how much original footage Beast Morphers has well I think the best thing they could do is buy the Megazord Stock Footage, suits for the ranger and villains, Villians lair footage, and weapon props to make there own series so they do not rely on the Japanese footage that much except for the Megazord battles and villians lair.
The animated series i think has very good merit as they could expand a lot on all seasons and even do more world building with the rangers.

@GonicWarrior9214 years ago My personal feelings is that if Hasbro is going make original PR seasons not adapting from Sentai, I'll be all for it. It will be very exciting to see what we can do if they really go all in. If they make an animated series that replaces the live action show, I'll be disappointed, but hope it's good and not just for the youngest demographic.
If they decide to do both a live action show, AND an animated series, ranging age groups with a Rescue Bots type for kids and a DC/Voltron styled show for older audiences, I'll be set! Hell, give me some live action Netflix miniseries for older fans too! Just use the full potential of Power Rangers Hasbro, please!

@letterm66564 years ago The terrible acting, the cheesy writing, and all the "Ai Yah!!" are what defines mmpr or tokusastu in general. It's literally embedded in its DNA. You take that away, it becomes something else for better for worst. ... 2

@ShinkenBlack4 years ago They should do something like Star Wars did with Clone Wars and Rebels. Have live action power ranger team series. And then have stuff like Shattered Grid animated. Shattered Grid could be an exclusive to Netflix or live action could. With the other on Nickoloadian. Hopefully not Nick of course. ...

@gingeta59614 years ago I'm on your side on this, to keep power rangers on live action and working with toei, the series being live action is what makes it so special 1

@TokuHeroesUnite934 years ago Here's what I think. Nickelodeon doesn't care for Power Rangers and Toei doesn't care for Super Sentai. The average ratings for Beast Morphers, according to Wikipedia, are below 1 million because Nickelodeon doesn't promote the series well at all. The mid-season and post season hiatuses make their target audience, the kids, lose their attention and most older fans have already seen the rest of season 2 of Beast Morphers thanks to the UK getting new episodes much early so it's possible that older fans won't tune in either when the latter half of season 2 airs in the US. As for Super Sentai, the series has been on a ratings slope for the past decade, less than 4 million since 2013 and the toys have been selling a lot less too. Toei doesn't put in as much effort for Sentai as they do with Kamen Rider. It feels to me like Toei favours Kamen Rider over Sentai, or Power Rangers for that matter, to the point where they don't care what happens to Sentai as long as Kamen Rider is still successful. Sentai and PR have both been on the air for decades with only one gap year so maybe fatigue could be another reason why both franchises have suffered as of late. ...

@zerogranger4 years ago If this is the end and we get an animated Power Rangers I hope we get a series based on the comics. The comics are amazing and I'd love to see all their stories and include the one shot issues, graphic novels, and crossovers in the animated style. I'd even love to see Hyperforce get an animated series. ... 3

@josephdan28504 years ago This better be rumor because power rangers always have to adapt new Sentai seasons. Toei or Saban should buy power rangers brand. Toei should buy Hasbro.
  • @
@josephdan28504 years ago Hasbro can't do animated series or any kind of Power Rangers project if they end partnership with Toei. Toei owns everything that is power rangers related. Toei owns suits, zords, and monsters. You and other people are forgetting legal stuff and Toei has right to say no to animated power rangers series. Hasbro is stuck with Toei for as long as Hasbro wants to make power rangers projects. ... 1

@LordNexus1934 years ago I thought Toei and Hasbro have a great relationship and plus I will be very disappointed that they drop the live if they stop well that mean any season from MMPR to Dino Fury can't be use because the costumes and everything is from Toei unless they keep the deal but I am not to big into animations but that just my opinion. ...

@matt00444 years ago Is this a rumor because I am NOT going to fall for any "he said, she said," nonsense here?
I don't think they'll switch from Live Action given that a big shake up wouldn't fly with long time or casual fans alike as well as how radical it'd shift things as is. Maybe they'll stick with Toei for cost effectiveness or get ambitious with their own Rangers.
Either way, I hope whatever comes is something good at least.

@Enshohma4 years ago I don't know what would be worst: A fully animated Power Rangers cartoon series no different from all the rest or a crappy CW-style American produced live action cheap-fest. But, than again, they haven't been doing too well with decent scripts and sped-up Sentai footage these last few seasons, have they. ... 4

@jesusramirezromo20374 years ago Isn't this good?, as long as its not done by PeppaPig studdioz
