@stevemazzara81788 years agoJeff, you aren't kidding about digging! You've taken one man mucking to a new level. Any deeper and you'll have to start hoisting the muck out. Thanks for sharing this informative demo. and valuable tips. The Sierra Blaster is considerably quieter and a lot easier to work with than dynamite. Take Care my busy friend. Say hi to the Crew. See ya soon! ...
@
@americanuncensorednewsnetw92488 years agoAnother great video Jeff. Lots of great tips. I use SierraBlaster too. Your notch idea on tubing is good idea, I pull it back about 1" to prevent sealing exit, but notch great idea. On putting a rock on top, or leaning them, they do not have to be big, a cantaloupe sized does the trick, if smaller they jump higher, but hold the head down. Its not the weight, its the bowling ball Newton Kinetic Effect, the head sits still and rock jumps. You got plenty of good breakups. You have obviously used it quite a bit. If a downward hole I pour in water, splits rock better. I have never had trouble with wires getting chopped off, just open put wire in and let the spring grab it. Will check out your other videos on SB Thanks ...

@
@knotbumper5 years agoEveryone learns that when using a rotohammer, you use the bit you need for the final size. Using "pilot bits" tends to allow the full size bit to go off course and bind up and either get stuck or break. I speak from 40+ years using one on a regular basis. ...

@
@drufzr6008 years agoIt's the tensile strength of the mineral that determines how easily it breaks, not the hardness. While there is some correlation between hardness and tensile strength, it is no where near a steadfast rule. For example glass (~1550HB) is harder than mild steel (120HB), yet which is going to break far more easily if you put explosives in it? ...

@richardmarquez6687 years agoso the bits get I understand so can I just use a little warter while drilling. or would that mess up the blasting

@luckystrike13896 years agoHi Jeff! Awesome vids and info btw! How many tons could a couple of strong fellas dig out per day you figure? I mean, on a gold laden quartz vein? @
@EthanVandal8 years agoLove your attitude and antics. I recently obtained a lode claim in Nevada, a real good one. I'm thinking about blasting the tunnel wall using this method. Would you say that these small charges are relatively safe for that or should I stick with an rotary hammer or pneumatic hammer? I'm subscribed. Keep up the awesome videos, Jeff! ...

@jeeprenegade19856 years agoPretty cool device really. I just thought about this though. Wouldn'it be quicker and easier to use a small jackhammer. Like a lower wall, demolition hammer? Not to be a smartass, or would it just wedge itself into the rock since it's so soft? ...
